We’re hiring a Home Delivery Program AmeriCorps Associate!
Join the EFN team and be a part of our expanding program delivering groceries to hundreds of food insecure households in Pierce County, WA. EFN’s Home Delivery Program has already made an impact on hundreds of individuals and families in our community. This program takes thoughtful management of recipients, volunteers, food inventory, data tracking and more. We are seeking an AmeriCorps member through Washington Service Corps to assist in the management and growth of this impactful program. Read here about the benefits of being an AmeriCorps member.
Program Start/End Date:
September 1, 2022 – May 15, 2023 (9.5 months)
Responsibilities and Related Tasks:
- Contact home delivery recipients weekly to confirm delivery and details.
- Create weekly delivery routes and assign each to a volunteer.
- Utilize Excel and delivery software Circuit for Teams to determine delivery routes.
- Assist in recruitment and management of volunteer drivers.
- Welcome, train, and support new volunteer drivers.
- Help load volunteer vehicles with food boxes.
- Assist with coordination of building food boxes for home delivery distribution.
- Assist in procurement of special need items for food boxes.
- Develop and maintain community partnerships to support this program.
- Track program progress by gathering data and recipient stories.
- Drive EFN van to make additional deliveries or pick up food items.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18+ years old
- Strong customer service skills
- Attention to detail
- Experience with excel and data management
- Ability to lift 30 pounds repeatedly
