Individual Volunteer of the Quarter: Megan Knudson

January – March 2019

Megan Knudson (pictured on right) has been volunteering with EFN since last October and has quickly become a regular face at EFN events! As a regular Repack Project volunteer on the Heritage Bank team, her positive attitude and willingness to jump into any task makes for a fun and productive time for all. Megan has also been a huge asset at our last three Break Bags events, always taking on the role of lifting the 15 pound bags full of food over and over again to load our bins.

Megan also participated in our Hunger Walk & 5K this month raising funds for EFN and she received a 2nd place medal in the 5K!

We are so grateful for Megan’s help feeding our neighbors in need.

“I started volunteering with EFN without knowing a lot about the organization. After one repack I saw the valuable work EFN does, I know that for many families being able to afford fresh and healthy food is difficult so EFN helps to fill some of that need. While volunteering at repacks and break bags it’s easy to see how efficiently the warehouse runs and how that equates to EFN providing food to those in need. My first repack we packed 11,400 pounds of bell peppers and I was able to connect with other employees from Heritage Bank while serving our community. The break bags sessions are a way to meet members of the community as we work to fill the basic need in our community.” – Megan
