Advocacy Alert: Help Stop SNAP Cuts!

On October 5, House leaders will have a floor vote on the FY 2018 House Budget Resolution, which contains deep cuts to SNAP (formerly called food stamps), the school meals Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), and other vital human needs programs critical to alleviating hunger and poverty.

I urge you to vote NO on the House Budget Resolution. Hunger still persists in our community at higher than pre-recession rates. We cannot afford the costs that will come from slashing SNAP, school meals, health care, Social Security, and other basic needs programs. Our communities value helping our neighbors in need over tax cuts that are heavily tilted towards the wealthiest 1%. Vote NO on the budget resolution and please work on passing a bipartisan budget that invests in programs that help all Americans.
