Make a donation to Emergency Food Network on GiveBIG day! Join thousands of others in donating during this annual one-day online giving event in the Greater Seattle area.

Your donations to Emergency Food Network will help provide food for our neighbors in need throughout Pierce County.

No need to wait until May 10. Starting April 27 you can schedule your donation in advance to be processed on Many 10!

Letter Carriers’ Food Drive @ Your Mailbox!
May 13 all-day

How does the Letter Carriers’ Food Drive work in Pierce County?

  1. Leave a bag of non-perishable food at your mailbox on May 13.
  2. Your postal carrier or a volunteer will pick it up.
  3. EFN distributes the food to our neighbors in need in Pierce County.

Other ways to help:

  • Volunteer with your local Post Office branch on the day of the event to help pick up food and unload it (contact volunteer@efoodnet.org to learn more).
  • Remind the community about the Letter Carriers Food Drive by posting about it on your company or church reader board, newsletter, or bulletin board. We also have posters available you can hang up!

Hunger Walk & 5K Run @ Fort Steilacoom Park
May 20 @ 7:30 am – 11:00 am

The 37th annual Hunger Walk & 5K Run is one of the oldest hunger fundraisers in Pierce County. This year for the first time we are adding a timed 5K run to the event! Walk through the trees and around a beautiful lake or run in the timed 5K. Funds raised at this annual event at Fort Steilacoom Park help Emergency Food Network provide food for our neighbors in need.

Volunteer with EFN at Taste of Tacoma! @ Point Defiance Park
Jun 23 – Jun 25 all-day

Are you headed out to Taste of Tacoma this year (June 23-25 at Point Defiance Park)? Make sure to stop by this year’s brand new attraction, South Sound Bites! Not only will Tacoma restaurants be featured through 5-course entree/plate meals for only $16 (check out the menu here) but the event will also help support EFN! South Sound Bites attendees can make a monetary or canned food donation to EFN…and EFN will be there to accept these donations! Which means…you can volunteer with EFN at this year’s Taste of Tacoma!

Volunteer Descriptions and Times
Volunteers and EFN staff will collect donations on all 3-days (June 23-25) while helping to bus tables at the South Sound Bites arena and checking in/out bikes, strollers, skateboards, or anything else with wheels at the Bike Corral.

Other Volunteer Details

Minimum age: The minimum age to volunteer at this event is 16. Youth ages 14 and 15 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Experience needed: None! Just the willingness to perform all tasks (bus tables, check wheeled items in/out, collect donations).

Qualifications: All volunteers need to be able to smile, be friendly and outgoing, and feel comfortable thanking strangers for making donations to benefit our community!
