How does the Letter Carriers’ Food Drive work in Pierce County?
- Leave a bag of non-perishable food at your mailbox on May 13.
- Your postal carrier or a volunteer will pick it up.
- EFN distributes the food to our neighbors in need in Pierce County.
Other ways to help:
- Volunteer with your local Post Office branch on the day of the event to help pick up food and unload it (contact email@example.com to learn more).
- Remind the community about the Letter Carriers Food Drive by posting about it on your company or church reader board, newsletter, or bulletin board. We also have posters available you can hang up!
This year marks the 25th Annual Letter Carriers’ Food Drive! For Emergency Food Network, this single day is one of the most important food drives of the year. We receive close to 300,000 pounds of food, enough to stock Pierce County food bank shelves through the summer.
To help make this day a success, our friends at the United States Post Office need our help! Volunteer Driving Teams are needed to help pick food up in the community (teams need a personal vehicle and a group of 2 – 4 volunteers; route maps and safety identification vests are provided).
Post Office Branch locations and number of teams needed:
