Empty Bowls @ Charles Wright Academy

This Emergency Food Network event is an annual ritual enjoyed by more than 500 people each year.  During Empty Bowls, attendees can choose from more than 1,000 bowls to purchase for the home and for holiday gifts. After purchasing bowls, guests are served a bowl of soup (in a separate bowl) donated by local chefs.

Admission for Empty Bowls is FREE. Bowl prices start at $10. We hope to see you there!

Fallen Officers Food Drive @ Lakewood Police Department

This year’s Fallen Officer Food Drive will be November 29, from 6:00 am – 6:00 pm. Bring your non-perishable food donation to help support Emergency Food Network.

New this year: A Blood Drive has been added to this year’s Food Drive from 11:30 am – 5:30 pm.

We hope to see you all there!

Can’t make it on the 29th? Drop off your donation at the Lakewood Police Department or Lakewood City Hall November 27 – December 1.

Mother Earth Farm (Winter Session) @ Emergency Food Network Mother Earth Farm

At Mother Earth Farm, we are now growing fresh, organic produce year-round for Pierce County food banks! During the winter months, we distribute more than 13,000 pounds of cool-weather produce such as leafy greens, Brussels sprouts, and tatsoi.

Stay warm and dry while lending a hand at Mother Earth Farm during our winter sessions! Volunteers are needed to help with weeding in our industrial-sized high tunnels. No experience is needed! EFN staff will be on site to provide you with training and supervision. Gloves and tools will be provided. Families and youth groups of all ages are welcome to volunteer at the farm (children ages 15 and under need to be accompanied by an adult).

Registration is required.

Hunger Walk & 5K Run @ Fort Steilacoom Park
May 5 all-day

The 38th annual Hunger Walk & 5K Run is one of the oldest hunger fundraisers in Pierce County. Walk through the trees and around a beautiful lake or run in the timed 5K. Funds raised at this annual event at Fort Steilacoom Park help Emergency Food Network provide food for our neighbors in need.
