More than 1.3 million visits are made to food pantries, meal sites, and shelters in Pierce County each year. Emergency Food Network aids these visits by distributing more than 14.8 million pounds of food annually to the 68 food programs it serves. Each time a community member walks into a food program with nothing, Emergency Food Network assures they walk out with enough food for nine meals.
For every $1 donated, EFN gives $12 worth of nutritious food for our neighbors in need. How do we do it? We are able to purchase healthy food in bulk, procure donated food while only paying for the delivery cost, receive donated truckloads of food through partnerships with other nonprofit organizations, and harvest fresh produce from our Mother Earth Farm. This efficiency is made possible by the efforts of 21 staff members, 2,835 dedicated volunteers, and an administrative and fundraising overhead that is less than 4%.
All donations to Emergency Food Network are tax deductible. Tax ID #94-3131776
